Running an Adventure
Every now and then, you may come up with an idea for a fantastical adventure! If you wanted players to partake in your adventures, you could offer to run it as a Dungeon Master (DM).
To become a Dungeon Master, you must create an alternate account that can be just your username with (DM) next to it. You can then post an adventure outline that would run the course of a single thread. Players can submit their characters to join your adventure, and they can recieve special rewards for doing so.
An adventure outline should include the following information:
Adventure Name: (What will you call this adventure)
Level Range: (What level of difficulty should be expected? Easy 1-4, Moderate 5-9, Difficult 10-15, Challenging 16-19, Daunting 20)
Number of Players: (Minimum number of players for the adventure, 1 is the absolute minimum)
Description: (Explain some background to your quest, and information about the quest giver)
Rewards: (Magic Items, Gold, and Experience that is an additional reward for the thread's completion)
Encounter Guidelines
During adventures, players may encounter monsters from the Monster Manual or similar official source book. As the dungeon master, you may control these creatures as they would act in the context of your story. When players overcome or defeat these monsters, they gain XP for defeating them equal to their challenge rating (Not divided among the party, but granted in full for each participant).
The challenge rating of a single monster in your adventure cannot exceed the highest level character in the player's party.
Reward Guidelines
During adventures, players gain additional XP and Gold at the conclusion. Also, they are allotted a magic item that will be listed in rewards by the DM. Each word written awards 2 XP instead of the usual 1, and each post awards 25 GP instead of the usual 10.
- Awards for level range 1-4: 250 Gold Per Participant, 2 Common Magic Items, 1 Uncommon Magic Item
- Awards for level range 5-9: 1,000 Gold Per Participant, 2 Uncommon Magic Items, 1 Rare Magic Item
- Awards for level range 10-15: 2,000 Gold Per Participant, 2 Rare Magic Items, 1 Very Rare Magic Item
- Awards for level range 16-19: 5,000 Gold Per Participant, 2 Very Rare Magic Items, 1 Legendary Magic Item
- Awards for level range 20: 10,000 Gold Per Participant, 2 Legendary Magic Items, 1 Artifact
Magic items, which are discovered during the course of the adventure, are distributed amongst the participants. They are not all awarded to the same character. Players must decide OOC who gets what, and disagreements are settled by rolls.
