Creating a Character
Forums and Dragons uses the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition game system. As such, characters are created in an identical way to how one would play the table top version. Players can start by selecting any of the playable races listed here.
They can then follow up by selecting their starting class from this list. Additionally, we are allowing Matthew Mercer's Blood Hunter and Gunslinger by popular demand, but keep in mind these classes are much rarer in the Forgotten Realms.
Characters can also begin with any of these starting backgrounds.
As characters progress in level, they also gain feats over time. A list of available feats can be found here.
Characters may begin play using either Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or Point Buy (27 point limit) to assign their Ability Scores. Alternatively, players may roll 4d6, drop the lowest die, and sum the total. Repeat this six times for six ability scores. Doing rolled stats must be done in the public discord.
To sum things up, all officially published content by Wizards of the Coast can be used to build your character. You may utilize the optional features and rules from Tasha's Caldron of Everything.
